prashanth.chengi@gmail.com BioI was born in the Kolar Gold Fields of Karnataka, India and brought up in Bangalore, the IT Capital of India. Being the nightmare of teachers' and parents' alike, I went through school without a care, flunked out of college, waitered at cafeterias and moonlighted at event-management, creative-designing, copy-writing and freelance writing. I took up a course in programming on a whim, developed a passion for it and proceeded to enrol for a graduate degree in computer science. Thanks to my inherent recklessness and a string of disastrous forays into and out of love, I only barely managed to get through the course, despite doing very well in the practicals and projects. My programming skills landed me a job as a lab-programmer in a college despite my poor grades, but in less than a year, I was restless and began yearning for new challenges I went to the National Centre for Software Technology (NCST) Mumbai and found quite a few while I was doing a course in advanced computing there. It was at NCST that I was interviewed and recruited by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) Pune, for their National PARAM Supercomputing Facility (NPSF) where I'm currently working on high performance computing (HPC), grid-computing and parallel programming. I'm single, love music, bicycling and table-tennis besides being an amateur graphologist.
